The invention relates to medicine, in particular to toxicology and can be used for diagnosing acute poisonings of chemical etiology.Summary of the invention consists in that a blood sample of patients with acute poisoning of chemical etiology is treated with Triton X-100, stirred by shaking, for 60 s, is added a solution of phosphate-citrate buffer with a pH of 7.0…7.1, is centrifuged; is transferred 300 µl of hemolysate to a photometric microplate, is measured the Abs1 absorption at a wavelength of 630 nm, is added acetone-cyanohydrin (final concentration 7.5…5.0 µM/L), is stirred for 3 min in a shaker-thermostat and Abs2 absorption is measured at a wavelength of 630 nm, Abs3 absorption at a wavelength of 620 nm, Abs4 absorption at a wavelength of 650 nm. Potassium ferricyanide is added (final concentration 1.1…2.2 µM/L), is stirred for 3 min in a shaker-thermostat and Abs5 absorbance is measured at a wavelength of 540 nm, after which is determined the concentration of MetHb, Hbtot(without SHb), HbO2, SHb, Hbtot in the hemolysate, %MetHb/Hbtot, %SHb/Hbtot, and the sum of inactive blood pigments. In the case when the percentage of methemoglobin in relation to the total amount of Hb is more than 1%, the percentage of sulfohemoglobin in relation to the total amount of Hb is more than 0.4%, and the sum of inactive blood pigments is more than 20%, the presence of acute poisoning of chemical etiology is diagnosed.
