摘要
The present disclosure is related to a process for repairing bad condition electrolytic cells through the manufacturing and installation of a fiberglass liner (FRP), which allows providing greater structural reinforcement and permeability to cells in poor condition. As advantages of the present invention, the following can be highlighted: high temperature resistance (up to 110°C-212°C). Prevents leakage of the electrolytic cells. The existing cell repair method is improved, avoiding production stoppages, since the cells can be repaired one by one, by placing an arc and a bridge between the cells to be repaired. Longer useful life (approximately 30 years). Investment reduction required, having a high quality electrolytic cell without a large investment. Reuse of electrolytic cells as structural mechanical supports. Off-site manufacturing of the FRP liner, and consequent on-site installation in only one day, avoiding production stoppages and therefore, great economic savings. Monolithic structure, in one piece. Once the FRP liner is installed in the electrolytic cell in poor condition, serves as an expansion joint since it is not structurally attached to the concrete or the polymeric concrete, preventing it from fracturing due to sudden temperature changes; facilitating repair in case of damage.
