摘要

The present disclosure is related to a physical process to obtain graphene nanoplatelets through the steam explosion or of a controlled pressure and temperature vessel coupled with sudden depressurization, followed by ultrasonic exfoliation. The novelty of this process lies in the absence of the use of solvents, surfactants, additives or additional organic molecules, which would decrease the purity of the graphene nanoplatelets. The stages used in the process do not damage or modify the graphite used as a precursor, reason why graphene nanoplatelets are obtained with high structural quality. In addition, the process allows the production of nanoplatelets in high quantities, so the demand of the industrial sector can be met.
