The purpose of the notification is to identify the selective management of the Diels -Alder reaction between cyclopentadiene and crotonium aldehyde (but -2 -enal) in the ion fluid environment. This is characterised by the fact that the reaction takes place in the presence of a chiral complex made in situ of metal salt and a chiral ligand. The metal salt is dissolved in an ion liquid and then a ligand dissolved in anhydrous methylene chloride is introduced, after which both solutions are mixed for 24 -hour periods to obtain a chiral complex, the solution is then distilled under reduced pressure of methylene chloride and the crotonium aldehyde and cyclopentaden are added to the catalytic converter and the reaction is carried out at a temperature from 20oC to 25oC, over 4 -48 hours.
