The application is for an extract from the leaves of the Japanese honeycomb Ginko biloba (EGb) and an extract from the leaves of the Japanese honeycomb (Ginkgo biloba,(EGb) for the manufacture of a preparation which has virus -killing activity against HHV -1 and HHV -2 herpes viruses, limiting viral infectivity even by 99,99%.
