New ion fluids with 1-alkyl-1-methyl-4-hydroxypiperidine cation and anion derived from 4-chloro-2-methylphenoxyacetic acid, with a general formula 1 in which R is the alkyl base of 6 to 16 carbon atoms, are reported.
