1,4-disubstituted thiosemicarbazide derivative, method of its preparation and its medical use

The notified product is the 1,4-diphosphate derivative of thio-semicarbazide, which is a 4-(4-dimethylaminophenyl)-1-(4-methylimidazole-5-ylcarbonyl)thio-semicarbazide of model 1. In addition, the notification also covers the mode of obtaining 1,4-diphthaled derivative thio-semicarbazide, which is characterised by the reaction of 4-methyl-5-imidazole-5-carboxylic hydrazide with 1:1 molar isothiocyanate, and the reaction is carried out in an anhydrous ethanol environment at the boiling point of the solvent in about thirty minutes, the progress of the reaction is monitored by thin film chromatography and, after the product has been formed, the content of the vessel,where the reaction occurs cools,the precipitated sediment drains and crystallises with 96% ethanol after drying. It is also reported that 4-(4-dimethylaminophenyl)-1-(4-methylimidazole-5-ylcarbonyl) thio-semicarbazide, model 1, is used in the treatment of tuberculosis.
