BIO-DRESSING BASED ON SILVER-DOPED HYDROXYAPATITE IN COLLAGEN MATRIX

The invention relates to a process for preparing a bio-dressing based on silver-doped hydroxyapatite in a collagen matrix for treating superinfected wounds. According to the invention, the process consists in preparing gels of silver-doped hydroxyapatite from precursors, such as calcium nitrate, di-ammonium acid phosphate and silver nitrate, separately dissolved in ethanol, which are mixed by stirring for 24 h, at the temperature of 40°C, to result in a gel which is kept at the room temperature for 72 h, after which it is dispersed in collagen gel up to homogenization, the gel resulted being transferred in a casting mould and subjected to a thermal treatment at a temperature below 0°C, for 24 h, followed by the temperature of 35..45°C, the resulting product being than sterilized and stored.
