METHOD FOR PREVENTING SPONTANEOUS COMBUSTION IN COAL MINES AND SURFACE DEPOSITS, BY THERMOGRAPHY APPLIED IN EXTRACTIVE INDUSTRY

The invention relates to a method for preventing spontaneous combustion in coal mines and surface deposits, by thermography. According to the invention, the method is based on identification of the temperature points or zones specific to the open coal pile and the deposits of organic substances which may develop spontaneous combustion phenomena, for which the following stages are performed: identifying the zones showing agglomeration of inflammable substances, calibrating a thermal imaging camera, setting the measurement quadrilateral, scanning, by planimetration, the zones susceptible of generating a temperature increase, obtaining and storing thermal images, analyzing thermograms, drawing the thermal maps, and, in the end, identifying the critical zones.
