The present invention assists in training related to work on a mechanical seal, thereby improving work skill. A mechanical seal work training device is equipped with: a rotatable shaft (4); a seal ring (8) equipped with a first sliding surface section (14-1) secured to the shaft; a first casing section (stuffing box 10-1) enclosing the seal ring; a seat ring (12) mounted on the shaft and equipped with a second sliding surface section (14-2) making contact with the first sliding surface section of the seal ring; and a second casing section (end plate 10-2) to which the seat ring is secured and which is connected integrally to the first casing section. The seat ring is secured to a hollow part (seat ring mounting part 132) of the second casing section that has been connected integrally to the first casing section, and the second sliding surface section makes contact with the first sliding surface section. During work training the first sliding surface section and the second sliding surface section can be rotated relative to each other by rotating the shaft manually.
