An implantable device to control the size of emphysematous bullae in a lung, comprising: i. an elongated central region having a fixed axial length (20); ii. a first end including a first anchor (50); wherein said first anchor comprises a self-reeling anchor region such that, in the absence of force, the first anchor region is coiled to a degree of curvature of 30 degrees to 180 degrees, or an articulated arm extending in a direction substantially towards said second end; iii. a second end including a second anchor (60); wherein said second anchor comprises a self-reeling anchor region such that, in the absence of force, the second anchor region is coiled to a degree of curvature of 30 degrees to 180 degrees, or an articulated arm extending in a direction substantially towards said first end; and characterized in that iv. the first end comprises a releasable or detachable latch feature (100) for securing an accessory to a delivery device; wherein the hooking feature comprises a ring; a magnet; a rope or strap with a hook or loop at the proximal end; a rotary connector; or a screw hitch.
