A remote control application for remotely a wireless signal booster is locatedon a remotedevice, such as a mobile telephone, tablet or computer. The remote controlapplicationutilizes a short-range communication interface, such as Bluetooth. Thisinterface allows theuser to autonomously register and remotely monitor the performance of thebooster and cantypically be used to configure, control, enable, shut down, and perform otheroperationsrelated to the booster, such providing customer support, product registration,and other typesof support for the booster operation. The system is most effective when theexternal device isa mobile device receiving telecommunication service through the repeater. Inthis case, themobile device simultaneously displays two signal strength indicators, one forsignals receivedby the mobile device itself and the other for signals received by the tower-side antenna of thewireless repeater.
