A slickline that includes bothelectrically conductive and fiber optic capacity. Theslickline includes a fiber optic thread or bundle ofthreads that may be surrounded by an electricallyconductive member such as split half shells ofcopper elements. Further, these features may bedisposed in a filler matrix so as to provide acohesiveness the core of the slickline. So, for example, theline may be more effectively utilized in downholeapplications such as coiled tubing operations,without undue concern over collapse or pinholeissues emerging in the line.
