Disclosed are a method and device for tracking control of a maximum outputpower point ofa solar cell, an output voltage of the solar cell is converted to a voltagerequired by a load via aconversion module comprising a switching unit. The control method comprises:acquiring anopen-circuit voltage of the solar cell (S1); adjusting a duty cycle of theswitching unit such thatan output voltage of the solar cell decreases from the open-circuit voltagegradually in a firstchange direction (S2); if the output voltage of the solar cell is less than orequal to apredetermined voltage, reversely adjusting the duty cycle of the switchingunit (S3); calculating acurrent output power of the solar cell, and if the current output power isless than a previousoutput power, determining that the previous output power is the maximum outputpower of thesolar cell (S5).
