The present invention provides a device with which an evaluation closer to an actual examination result is possible. This intellectual property assistance device is characterized by being provided with: an acceptance unit for accepting technical information that represents a subject to be evaluated; a storage unit for storing intellectual property information that includes a plurality of pieces of literature information, and other technical information that includes one of auxiliary technical information accompanying the technical information, prior art information accepted via the acceptance unit, and similar technical information detected on the basis of the technical information; a calculation unit for setting technical words included in the technical information to a query when labeling the technical information and the other technical information or intellectual property information, and calculating, through use of the set query, a new query that represents technical words included in the other technical information or intellectual property information; and a detection unit for detecting, through use of the query and the new query, literature information associated with the subject to be evaluated from the intellectual property information.
