The present application relates to the technical field of communications, and specifically provides a device configuration method and apparatus, a client terminal device, and a cloud server. The device configuration method is applicable to the client terminal device, and comprises: receiving input address information of the cloud server; storing the address information of the cloud server; when the client terminal device accesses a network, establishing a communication connection with the cloud server on the basis of the address information of the cloud server; receiving network configuration information sent by the cloud server; and performing network configuration on the client terminal device according to the network configuration information. By means of the technical solution, in embodiments of the present application, remote network configuration of the client terminal device can be completed, and there is no need for network operation and maintenance personnel to go to the site and perform network configuration on the client terminal device, thereby saving travel costs.
