The present invention relates to an emergency stop device for a linear motor elevator and provides an emergency stop device for a linear motor elevator, which has a braking module configured by using a mover for braking so that the braking module can be operated by means of elasticity of an elastic member and electromagnetic suction of the mover for braking, and, thus, stable braking performance is shown by generating a braking force by means of the elasticity in a state in which a power supply is shut off, and an electromagnetic thrust is generated with respect to an elevator car in a normal operation state, thereby improving driving performance and efficiency of the elevator car and not acting as a hindrance to driving.
