A larvicidal and repellent composition for controlling mosquito larvae in open bodies of water in which part of the active substances are microencapsulated to prevent the denaturing thereof, said composition having a marked larvicidal power and long-term preventive effect that prevents the reinfestation of mosquitoes in bodies of water to which it is applied, with no remanent toxicity for other aquatic organisms.
