This base station device includes: a storage unit (130) that holds an authentication database which stores authentication data used in authenticating a terminal device; an acquisition unit (121) that acquires a handover request requesting handover of a first terminal device during communication with another base station device; a request unit (124) that, if the handover request was acquired by the acquisition unit (121), requests the other base station device to transmit authentication data to be used in authenticating the first terminal device; and a storage control unit (125) that receives the authentication data requested by the request unit (124), and causes the storage unit (130) to store the authentication data.
