[Problem] To provide: a polyarylene sulfide resin composite material capable of producing a hot-press molded product having excellent heat resistance and excellent dispersibility of fillers; and a hot-press molded product using the polyarylene sulfide resin composite material. [Solution] The present invention provides a composite material for a hot-press molded product, the composite material containing a polyarylene sulfide resin powder and a filler, wherein the polyarylene sulfide resin powder has an average particle size of 5-100 µm, a melting point Tm1 of 250-300°C as measured by differential scanning calorimetry, and an average circularity of 0.07-1.00 as measured by dynamic image analysis. The amount of water in the polyarylene sulfide resin powder is preferably 0.1-750 ppm as measured by a Karl Fischer moisture meter.
