The present invention provides a biomarker for diagnosing an early stage of diabetic nephropathy and a method for diagnosing an early stage of diabetic nephropathy. The biomarker is MASP2 contained in urine extracellular vesicles (EVs), and the expression level thereof in the early stage of diabetic nephropathy is significantly higher than that in normal people. The diagnostic method of the present invention is non-invasive and has a great application prospect.
