The present invention relates to a panel assembly formed by a combination of thermosetting and/or thermostable melamine resin and/or films with woven and nonwoven fabrics with natural, synthetic, polymer and/or mineral fibres. In particular, the invention relates to a panel assembly comprising thermosetting resin films and/or melamine supporting films in combination with core sheets based on synthetic polyoxyethylene oxyterephthaloyl polymer cloths formed by very-high-tenacity threads in braided weave and synthetic polyoxyethylene oxyterephthaloyl polymer cloths with medium-tenacity threads in plain weave, impregnated with adhesive polymer films and/or liquid melamine resin or in overlay films, such that single- or multi-layer panels can be manufactured in presses with very high pressure pressing, thereby obtaining mechanical characteristics and improved applications, the use of highly toxic materials based on phenolic resins being eliminated.
