The invention relates to reactor, to a method, and to the use of said reactor in the method for obtaining amphipathic siderophores from a microorganism culture. The reactor comprises the following components: (a) a device (40) for stirring and/or gassing purposes, (c) a discharge (70) for foam, containing the amphipathic siderophores, in the lateral wall of the reactor, (c) a cover (90), wherein the lower edge of the discharge (70) for foam lies at a height ranging from 40-75% of the total height of the reactor (10), when measured from the bottom, in the form of an overflow, and the discharge (70) for foam runs outwards horizontally or diagonally downwards or is designed as the overflow.
