A wave field forward modeling method and device, said method comprising: acquiring a window function, the window function including a finite difference coefficient and a trimming coefficient; creating an objective function according to a maximum norm principle and the window function; solving the objective function to obtain a solution of the finite difference coefficient and a solution of the trimming coefficient; substituting the optimal solution into the window function; using the window function to obtain an optimized uniform grid finite difference operator; and using the optimized uniform finite difference operator to perform wave field forward modeling. The present solution optimizes the coefficients to be optimized in the objective function; for the first time, the uniform grid finite difference operator can be optimized by combining the window function with the objective function; and when the wave field forward modeling is performed, the optimized uniform grid finite difference operator facilitates the reduction of numerical dispersion.
