METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR RECOGNIZING PHOTOGRAPHED IMAGE OF DRIVING LICENSE IN NATURAL SCENE AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE

A method for recognizing a photographed image of a driving license in a natural scene. The method comprises: obtaining a natural scene image, wherein the image content of the natural scene image includes a photographed image of a driving license (310); performing multi-scale feature extraction and target detection on the natural scene image to detect a license image from the natural scene image (330); traversing a frame with a fixed width to perform feature extraction on the license image to obtain a candidate frame, and stitching target frames filtered according to a text context feature of the candidate frame to obtain a text area in the license image (350); and performing character recognition on a feature sequence of the text area to output a recognition result (370). By means of this method, a license image can be detected from a natural scene image, and text in the image of the license image can be accurately recognized, thereby being flexibly applicable to different natural scenes, and solving the problem in the prior art that it is difficult to recognize a photographed image of a driving license in a natural scene.
