The invention relates to the field of engineering, and more particularly to a method for assessing the position of the epicentre of a thermal field of the exhaust of a gas turbine assembly. The problem of assessing the position of the epicentre of an exhaust thermal field is highly relevant since an increase in non-uniformity leads to burnout of the guide vanes of the first stage of a gas turbine and a decrease in the energy conversion efficiency thereof. By comparison with methods known to the applicants, the claimed method is highly universal and flexible and makes it possible to achieve better results and, in particular, to form an objective opinion regarding a change in the degree of non-uniformity of the temperature field on the basis of data obtained.
