A vibratory cutter comprises a body with a cover, a movable part with a cutting insert, a set of resilient elements connecting the movable part of the cutter to the body and to the cover to form an oscillating edge, and supporting elements disposed in a front portion along the feed direction. The body is provided with two seats, each receiving a separate movable part with a cutting insert, one of which is intended for longitudinal movement with longitudinal oscillations, and the second of which is intended for transverse movement with transverse oscillations. Each of said parts is provided with additional supporting elements disposed in the tail portion thereof. A bottom portion of the cutting insert mates on each side with a convex curved front surface. Both of said convex front surfaces, the bottom portion and the cutting edge are mathematically described by polynomials of a degree n.
