A comprehensive thermal management system for an integrated battery, motor, and electrical control unit based on a heat pump air conditioner and a method thereof. The system comprises refrigerant circulation, battery coolant circulation, and motor and electrical control unit coolant circulation, and uses an intermediate heat exchanger (114) as a medium for the refrigerant circulation and battery coolant circulation, to transfer the heat or cold of the refrigerant circulation to a battery coolant system, so as to realize coupled operation of a battery pack (203) and a heat pump air conditioner. During refrigeration of the air conditioner, an inner evaporator in the refrigerant circulation and the intermediate heat exchanger (114) are controlled in parallel, while during heating of the air conditioner, an inner condenser in the refrigerant circulation and the intermediate heat exchanger (114) are controlled in series.
