A method for producing an absorbent article comprises: spreading a conveyed tow with a gas in at least one spreading chamber in a gas spreading apparatus; adding a granular material to the tow at a position located on the tow-conveying-direction upstream side relative to an outlet port of a spreading chamber located on the tow-conveying-direction most downstream side; and adhering a binder capable of binding a plurality of fibers contained in the tow to each other to the lower surface of the tow at a position located on the conveying-direction downstream side relative to the gas spreading apparatus.
