Provided is a method for preparing a high-performance ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene resin. An ethylene monomer is subjected to a polymerization reaction by means of a single active site-loaded polyethylene catalyst in a reactor to prepare a polyethylene resin having a lower entanglement degree and a narrower molecular weight distribution. Compared with the prior art, the polyethylene raw material obtained by means of polymerization has the characteristic of a narrow molecular weight distribution, thereby greatly improving the mechanical properties of the resulting ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene; furthermore, the low entanglement property thereof solves the current problem that an ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene with a narrow molecular weight distribution is difficult to uniformly dissolve in a solvent.
