One embodiment of the present invention provides a method for designing a piezoelectric element unit which increases the focusing intensity of acoustic pressure and is capable of accurate acoustic focusing, an ultrasound element comprising a piezoelectric element unit produced using same, a method for producing an ultrasound element, and an acoustic focusing device comprising an ultrasound element. Here, the method for designing a piezoelectric element unit comprises: selecting a target position at which maximum acoustic pressure will be focused and a target distance to the target position; inputting basic information of a piezoelectric element base material; dividing the cross section in the height direction of the piezoelectric element base material with a plurality of grids so as to group the plurality of grids into unit grid groups; calculating the magnitude of output acoustic pressure which should be output from each unit grid group in order for the maximum acoustic pressure to be focused at the target position; discerning, from among the unit grid groups, unit grid groups which output the output acoustic pressure falling under a reference acoustic pressure range; and determining a plurality of concentric ring patterns on the basis of pattern shape information including a position and a width corresponding to each of the discerned unit grid groups.
