USE OF ACYL-COENZYME A: CHOLESTEROLACYLTRANSFERASE-1 IN DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT OF LIVER CANCER

Disclosed is the use of a substance that inhibits SOAT1 gene expression and/or protein activity. The use is selected from at least one of the following: (a) the use for preparing a kit for diagnosis of liver cancer; (b) the use for preparing a kit for prognosis of liver cancer; (c) the use for preparing a companion diagnostic kit for liver cancer treatment; (d) the use for preparing a drug for prevention and/or treatment of cancers; (e) the use for preparing a drug for prevention and/or treatment of cancer spread and metastasis; (f) the use for preparing a drug for promotion of cancer cell apoptosis; (g) the use for preparing a drug for inhibition of cancer cells developing into cancers; and (h) the use for preparing a drug for inhibiting the proliferation and growth of cancer cells in vitro. The experiment shows that SOAT1 is obviously highly expressed in liver cancer tissue and serum; high abundance thereof suggests poor prognosis in patients with liver cancer; same can be used alone or in combination with other proteins as a marker for early diagnosis, prognosis or treatment companion diagnostics of tumors, especially liver cancer. The SOAT1 inhibitor can be used as a candidate drug target for SOAT1 high expression tumors, especially liver cancer.
