Disclosed is a method for assessing lightning damage of a carbon fiber composite material considering nonlinear impedance characteristics. In the method, a variety of factors affecting lightning damage of a carbon fiber composite material caused by a single lightning current component are studied to acquire patterns between the area and depth of lightning damage to the carbon fiber composite material, the peak value, rise rate, transferred charge amount, and specific energy of the lightning current component, and the nonlinear impedance characteristics of the carbon fiber composite material. On this basis, the method establishes a multi-factor assessment model for the lightning damage caused by the single lightning current component, so as to acquire the area and depth of the lightning damage to the carbon fiber composite material, impact factors of the multiple factors, and mathematical expressions therebetween. The method examines the mechanism of lightning damage to carbon fiber composite materials, thereby providing a theoretical basis for research on the formulation and processing of carbon fiber composite laminates.
