A display method based on data transmission, and an electronic device and a computer-readable storage medium. The display method is implemented in the electronic device. The electronic device comprises a display screen. The display method comprises: detecting the orientation of a target device relative to the electronic device (S103), wherein the target device has been in short-distance wireless communication connection with the electronic device; according to the orientation, determining a direction, corresponding to the orientation, in the display screen (S105); detecting whether data transmission is performed with the target device (S107); and when data transmission is performed with the target device, controlling, according to the direction and the performed data transmission, the display of a motion icon on the display screen and controlling the motion icon to move in the display screen in the direction along with the performed data transmission (S109). This method can present, to a user, relevant information of the current data transmission, thereby improving the user experience.
