Disclosed are an internet map-based method and device for acquiring a video ahead, and a rescue vehicle. The device comprises: a GPS positioning module used for acquiring location information of a rescue vehicle; a route analysis module used for acquiring a travel route of the rescue vehicle; a map service module used for acquiring camera point distribution information in an internet map; a camera point calculation module used for obtaining the current location of the rescue vehicle on the basis of the location information and of the traveling route, and determining multiple target camera points in a path of travel on the basis of the camera point distribution information, thus retrieving current surveillance pictures of the target camera points. The device obtains video information of the road ahead in the travel route on the basis of route information and of the camera point distribution information, calculates in real-time multiple video surveillance points ahead while traveling, retrieves the surveillance pictures, performs a fine-grained assessment of road congestion conditions, and combines with real-time road conditions to provide a decision support for route planning and navigation.
