A clipboard-based information pushing method and apparatus, and a terminal device. The method comprises: obtaining text information copied/clipped into a clipboard; segmenting the text information to obtain at least one piece of word segmentation data, and displaying the word segmentation data, wherein the word segmentation data is a subset of the text information; detecting the word segmentation data selected by a user; according to at least one of context information, the historical chatting record of the user, or a user image associated with the text information, searching for the selected word segmentation data, and filtering search results to obtain recommendation information associated with the selected word segmentation data; and displaying the recommendation information. Compared with the prior art, the implementations of the present invention save the time of obtaining the information, reduce the operation of the user, and improve the efficiency of obtaining user information.
