Provided by the present invention are a compact dual band MIMO antenna and a mobile terminal, comprising a system ground unit, a radiation arm having an open-circuit terminal and a short-circuit terminal, a first antenna formed at the open-circuit terminal, and a second antenna formed at the short-circuit terminal; the first antenna further comprises a ground arm that connects the radiation arm to the system ground unit as well as a first feed arm located between the ground arm and the open-circuit terminal; and the second antenna further comprises a second feed arm located between the short-circuit terminal and the ground arm. Compared to the related technology, the present invention has the following advantageous effects: the antenna structure is compact and has a high degree of isolation; there are dual bands and performance is excellent on both of the dual bands; the structure is simple, easy to be processed and manufactured, is small in size, and is light-weight, being suitable for large-scale production.
