Embodiments of the present application disclose a set-top box (STB) cloudification method and system, a virtual set-top box (vSTB), a virtual set-top box (vSTB) management platform, a thin set-top box (tSTB), and a storage medium. The STB cloudification method comprises: obtaining a connection request sent by a thin set-top box (tSTB), and establishing, on the basis of the connection request, a connection channel with the tSTB; and receiving input information sent by the tSTB via the connection channel and corresponding to a peripheral device of the tSTB, determining, on the basis of the received input information, a service application type and obtaining a processing result corresponding to the service application type, and returning the processing result to the tSTB.
