A method for preparing high-density magnesia by using microwave sintering of magnesite, relating to the technical field of efficient utilization of metallurgical resources. The specific preparation method comprises: calcining magnesite in a high-temperature furnace to obtain primary light-burned magnesia powder; putting the light-burned magnesia powder in a ball mill tank, using deionized water as a ball mill medium, completing the hydration and ball-milling treatment of light-burned magnesia, and after drying treatment, obtaining magnesium hydroxide powder; putting the magnesium hydroxide powder in a high-temperature furnace for secondary calcining to obtain secondary light-burned magnesia powder; and forming the secondary light-burned magnesia powder into a green body, and performing microwave sintering at a certain temperature and time to obtain high-density magnesia.
