Disclosed is a method for real time synchronization of BIOS and a BMC power-off policy. The method comprises: obtaining the current power-off policy of a BMC, setting Bit0 of a PCH register according to the power-off policy, and storing the set value (110); obtaining the set value of the BIOS Setup option, determining whether the set value is consistent with that of Bit0 of the PCH register and, if not consistent, refreshing the set value of Bit0 of the PCH register to the set value of the BIOS Setup option (120); and when modifying the set value of BIOS Setup, determining whether the set value of Bit0 of the PCH register is consistent with that of the BIOS Setup option and, if not consistent, notifying the BMC to modify the power-off policy (130). According to the method, the BMC setting can be obtained by BIOS and refreshed in the menu, the power-off policy is set by BIOS and stored for immediate effect, thereby guaranteeing real time synchronization of the power-off policy in BIOS and the BMC end system, not resulting in the customer perceiving that the setting has not taken effect, and thus improving product availability, enhancing product performance, and improving customer satisfaction.
