A method for performing channel estimation for a massive MIMO channel by a communication device may comprise the steps of: on the basis of a predetermined number of channel elements acquired as a part of a full-dimensional channel matrix for the massive MIMO channel and a predetermined number of channel paths configured to estimate the number of channel paths, configuring a homogeneous order of determinant (HOD) matrix; on the basis of the HOD matrix, estimating the number of channel paths; extracting as many columns as the estimated number of channel paths, from the HOD matrix so as to configure a set of square matrix-type sub-HOD matrices; and calculating a determinant of each sub-HOD matrix in the set of sub-HOD matrices to construct nonlinear simultaneous equations, and estimating the full-dimensional channel matrix according to solutions of the nonlinear simultaneous equations.
