METHOD FOR IDENTIFYING NON-RESPONDERS TO FIRST LINE OF TUBERCULOSIS DRUG REGIME

The present invention provides a method for identifying non-responder to a first line of tuberculosis drug regime, which have a prospective risk of development of drug resistant tuberculosis (DR-TB) infection in plurality of subjects by using differential levels of RNA signatures therein. The method comprises identifying differential levels of RNA signatures by analysing RNA library; quantitatively analysing the detected small non-coding RNAs for identifying exhibited differential levels of RNA signatures in plurality of subjects, and creating expression profiles for plurality of subjects; comparing the expression profiles of the plurality of subjects to identify responders and non-responders based on the differential levels of the RNA signatures; and validating the expression profiles of the non-responders against the expression profiles of the responders for determining the prospective risk of development of drug resistant tuberculosis infection. Moreover, the present invention provides a diagnostic kit to be used with the aforementioned method.
