An embodiment of the present invention provides an artificial intelligence apparatus for controlling an auto stop function, comprising: an input unit for receiving brake information and speed information about a vehicle; a storage unit for storing an auto stop function control model; and a processor for acquiring driving information including the brake information and the speed information through the input unit, acquiring base data to be used in determining the control of the auto stop function from the driving information, determining the control mode of the auto stop function by using the base data and the auto stop function control model, and controlling the auto stop function according to the determined control mode, wherein the control mode is either an enabling mode of enabling the auto stop function or a disabling mode of disabling the auto stop function.
