The present invention provides a cannabinoid combination comprising, as the only cannabinoids, cannabidiol (CBD) and Δ⁹-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), or an enantiomer, diastereomer, or racemate thereof, for use in preventing, inhibiting, or reducing weight gain resulting from treatment by at least one psychiatric drug selected from an antipsychotic drug, an antidepressant, and a mood stabilizer, wherein the CBD:THC weight ratio in the cannabinoid combination is about 20:1; pharmaceutical and nutraceutical compositions comprising the cannabinoid combinations; and methods for preventing, inhibiting, or reducing weight gain resulting from treatment by at least one psychiatric drug selected from an antipsychotic drug, an antidepressant, and a mood stabilizer, by administering the cannabinoid combination.
