ARIFICIAL SALIVA COMPRISING TWO DIFFERENT MOLECULAR WEIGHTS OF HYALURONIC ACID

The present application discloses an artificial saliva composition comprising two different molecular weights of hyaluronic acid. The artificial saliva composition according to the present application has a viscoelasticity that is more similar to that of human saliva due to a marked increase in viscosity at a low shear rate and a small increase in viscosity at a high shear rate as compared to a composition comprising a single molecular weight of hyaluronic acid. In addition, in comparison with a composition comprising a single molecular weight of hyaluronic acid, the inhibitory effect on a main antibacterial substance in human saliva is not increased, and therefore, the artificial saliva composition can be effectively used in treatment of diseases requiring artificial saliva.
