Embodiments of the disclosure disclose a traffic accident handling method and device. A specific embodiment of the method comprises: receiving an accident handling request transmitted by a vehicle-mounted terminal of a vehicle in an accident; determining accident related information; generating an accident handling message for a traffic accident information sheet and the accident related information, and writing the accident handling message to a message queue on the basis of an accident level; in response to determining that the accident handling message is located at the front of the message queue, determining, according to the accident related information, whether human intervention is required; and in response to determining that human intervention is not required, executing a first handling operation: generating a first accident handling responsibility statement draft according to the accident related information; transmitting the first accident handling responsibility statement draft to a first terminal associated with a vehicle identifier; and in response to receiving confirmation information transmitted by the first terminal for the first accident handling responsibility statement draft, determining the first accident handling responsibility statement draft to be an accident handling responsibility statement. The embodiment improves the efficiency of handling a traffic accident.
