Disclosed are a programmable logic controller (PLC) switchboard and a method for controlling a PLC switchboard. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the PLC switchboard which controls various instruments provided in railroad cars comprises: an input unit receiving an input signal for controlling the instruments; a signal processing unit processing the input signal in accordance with stored sequence data and generating an output signal including a control command with regard to the instruments; and an output unit outputting the output signal to the instruments. The input unit, the signal processing unit, and the output unit are each formed of a main device and an auxiliary device and arranged on one board.
