The present invention is an antiviral composition for influenza A virus comprising a vegetable essential oil selected from a group consisting of Origanum majorana, Salvia sclarea, and Pimpinella anisum as an active component. Since the antiviral composition contains the vegetable essential oil, which is a biological agent, the antiviral composition is excellent in safety by having no side effects to the human body, and antiviral activity thereof is superior to oseltamivir, thereby being able to be usefully used for preventing or treating for influenza A virus infection diseases.
