Disclosed are a battery management system for determining whether a current detection circuit has failed, a battery pack including the same, and a method for determining a failure of the current detection circuit. According to one embodiment of the present invention, the battery management system comprises: a current detection circuit providing a shunt resistor element installed in a large current path of the battery pack and configured to detect a first current flowing through the large current path based on a first voltage generated at both ends of the shunt resistor element; a bidirectional switch including a charge FET and a discharge FET connected in series with each other and installed in the large current path; and a control unit operatively coupled to the current detection circuit and the bidirectional switch. The control unit is configured to determine whether the current detection circuit has failed, based on a second voltage generated at either of the charge FET and the discharge FET.
