According to the present invention, provided is a garbage bag detection device of a smart garbage can comprising a transmitting end for transmitting a signal, and a receiving end for receiving the signal; and both the transmitting end and the receiving end are all installed in an inner wall of the garbage can, and the signal received by the receiving end is a direct signal transmitted by the transmitting end or a reflected signal after the transmitting end is transmitted. The present invention further discloses a smart garbage can installed with the garbage bag detection device and a control method of an automatic replacement for a garbage bag. A technical solution means of the present invention automatically detects a position of the garbage bag in the garbage can and improves a smart control of the garbage can which are advantageous in protecting and resource saving the garbage can, and improves safety and reliability by reducing the safety issues present in the smart garbage can.
